sbd Tours features guided discovery hikes and bike tours along some interesting trails in the area as well as tours of historic places such as Empire!

We recommend sturdy shoes, binoculars and cameras! Don't forget sunscreen, insect repellent and water!

Tours are June through October, call or email to arrange a tour that fits your schedule!

Before you make a reservation for a tour or bike rental be sure to call ahead to see about availability.

The Nature Discovery Walks include information about wildlife, wildflowers, historic sites and more. The hikes are easy to moderate.

The Betsie Valley Trail Bicycle Tour-

a leisurely bike ride from Beulah to Frankfort with lots of photo opportunities, different habitats for wildlife watching and a bus ride back to Beulah!

North Bar Bicycle Tour-

discover various ecosystems, plants and more!

Bring your camera, binoculars and dress comfortably and in layers.

This trail is even and great photo opportunities and vistas await you!

Please note: some of the hikes and tours take place in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Park which requires an entrance pass!

The Otter Creek Hike takes you to the beach to explore and then to the woods to discover wildlife and wildflowers.

The area has an interesting history, even murder occurred here. What happened? Join us for a tour and find out!

The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail bike tour takes you from the Maritime Museum through Glen Haven and along the new SBHT to the Dune Climb. The area is rich with history and offers a great opportunity to view the dune habitat.

Empire History Walk

Step back in time and come along on a walking tour through historic Empire. The old lumber village has a lot of history- find out about what put Empire on the map and see what the village looked like a hundred years ago! This tour is wheelchair user friendly and is a leisurely walk on paved walkways.

Group size is 10-12 peopleor less- small groups allow for better communication and attention to details. Please call or email to make sure your preferred tour is available. If you want to take the bus back from Frankfort after the BVT bike tour arrangements have to be made in advance.
